The maximum amount of User Fees (for Sales-based and Acreage-based combined) that any member pays to OCIA International is $3,000 per calendar year. If you reach $3,000 at any time during the calendar year a refund or credit will be processed of any overage immediately.
| OCIA User Fees – TC and Non-TC: .65% of gross organic sales - User fees are billed quarterly. |
| For Processors, Sales-based User Fees are due on all sales which are certified and sold as organic. |
| For Producers, Sales-based User Fees are due on sales of all crops grown before 2011, which are certified and sold as organic. |
| Payment of TC and Non-TC User Fees are required 30 days after date of invoice. |
| AOPA User Fees –The User Fee charge of .75% will still be charged on organic sales to cover the Chapter expenses. |
- Other categories and fees may be determined in the future for Acreage Based User Fees.
- Late fees of $25.00 per week past the deadline of April 1, 2011 are implemented.
- New members receiving their applications after March 1 can request an extension.
- Certification and Verification programs selected must match your application (OSP) and will indicate programs you want to be inspected for. Remember to confirm your choices at your inspection. If you add on programs DURING OR AFTER THE INSPECTION you will require another inspection at your expense at full rates.
- If a file has to be re-opened for additional review for any certificate, the cost is $275.
- If a file has to be re-opened for additional verification review, the cost is $250.
- All fees are payable in CANADIAN funds.
- Please make cheques payable to ALBERTA ORGANIC PRODUCERS ASSOC. or AOPA and mail to the Administrator along with your completed forms at the address noted on Page 1.
- GST of 5% is payable on all funds. AOPA GST # 877430769 RT0001
- Inspections will not be performed until certification fees are paid.
- JAS Certification – if you wish to apply for JAS Certification (to sell in Japan), please contact your Administrator. This is handled and invoiced by OCIA Canada.
- Costs - $660 Certification + $320/day for Inspection + GST.
Small Holder Bursary Program
Small producers can apply for a $100 reduction in certification fees through the Small Holder Bursary Program. Please contact the Administrator.
